This course is for

Graduates of English for Beginners B or people with a vocabulary of about 1500-2000 words, and a limited ability to converse about everyday topics with mistakes in basic spoken English. People possessing some basic structures such as present tense, including question and negative sentences and future and past tenses, but need a structured review on these topics. People who can read and understand a short story or newspaper clipping if it is written in simple English. People who are unable to follow a conversation or understand a TV interview without subtitles. People who are unable to write an e-mail or short letter in English.

Duration

12 weeks that include 24-36 learning hours.

Course structure and goals

This course deals with traveling and includes descriptions of celebrations, ceremonies, interesting historical buildings and ethnic markets around the world. The new vocabulary will come from the videos, dialogues and texts on these topics.
The grammar aspect will focus on a detailed description according to the correct order of events in the past, present and future.
We will practice speaking through interviews, discussions and role-playing on topics related to the lesson. We will improve our writing skills through writing a letter, a short description and a short CV.

At the end of the course the student will

understand detailed instructions.

understand the main ideas in a news broadcast and other material.
ask and answer questions related to habits, hobbies and past activities.
talk with someone on topics related to his or her fields of interest or activity.
express different levels of emotions and talk about personal experiences.
locate and understand specific information in everyday material such as letters and brochures.
locate the conclusion in a given text.
read and understand factual texts.
