This course is for

People with a vocabulary of about 4,000-6,000 words. Graduates of the Advanced English course or people with an intermediate-advanced command of the English language that require English for their academic studies: reading, writing and speaking in the academic world.

Duration

12 weeks that includes 24-36 learning hours.

Course structure and goals

Academic English A and B match university English courses, aimed at preparing students for academic studies that require the use of the English language.

Academic English-B is a continuation of Academic English-A and provides content and skills at a higher level.

Students practice reading, writing, listening and speaking through academic subject matter; the course focuses on understanding academic texts and writing as required in the academic world. Course content is based on texts from various academic disciplines taken from books and academic courses.

The course also recaps various grammar and language structure rules.

At the end of the course the student will

Improve his/her understanding of professional material: articles and books.
improve his/her academic writing skills.
widen his/her vocabulary in relevant fields.
